The Mr Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffee maker is stylish, offering a great glossy black design with a stainless steel wrapping. Its style is not any indication of a low performing appliance however, as so often the case with these types of products. This coffee maker is powerful and durable, creating delicious coffee with each use. It is so durable, in fact, it is sold with a full one-year warranty.

Thanks to the brew-strength control, more than one person in the household can enjoy coffee just the way they like it. Whether you prefer a light roast, medium or cannot get enough of that strong and eye opening dark roast, the Mr Coffee maker whips it right up.

Mr-Coffee-BVMC-SJX33GT-ControlsBeing able to program the coffee maker to start brewing your coffee up to 24 hours later is something certain to be loved with this machine. No more waiting for that first cup of coffee when you wake up or a cup after you get out of the shower in the evening.

Safety features with this machine include the on/off indicators as well as the auto-shut off feature. With the on/off indicators there is no guessing whether or not your machine is on, helping avoid accidents. The auto-shut off is also a pretty nice feature for such an affordable coffee machine. For 2 hours the machine will continue to heat your coffee, after this period of time has elapsed the machine turns itself off. It is a great way to avoid accidents and hazards that may be more common that you know.

Even better, all of these features are easy-to-use. These days it seems that many of the coffee makers take engineers to figure them out. It takes 25-steps to accomplish one simple step. All you want is coffee! That isn’t what you will experience here. Not with this machine. A quick review of the instruction manual and you should be good to go.

Although this coffee maker is beneficial in more ways than one, there are just a few disadvantages that you will find owning this machine. Those disadvantages include:

  • No option for single cup servings- Even if you want just one cup of coffee you will need to brew an entire pot.
  • The lid of the machine opens on top. To open the machine a minimum of 20 inches at the top is needed. This prevents it from being stored underneath some cabinets.
  • Some customers have experienced heating pots that wear, even rust, pre-maturely.

Although there are a couple of disadvantages associated with the Mr Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffee maker, these are very minor and do not make a huge enough impact to cause any real concern. In our opinion the number of advantages certainly overshadow these simple things.

We won’t disagree that there is no such thing as a perfect product. But what we will say is that the Mr Coffee coffee maker will certainly have you thinking there is. This really is a decent coffee maker for under $50 and if you look forward to your daily cup of coffee, this may be just the machine for you. This affordably priced coffee maker really is a cut above other coffee makers in this price range.

Wow, talk about your loaded qouetisns There are many many people that will definitely state that a french press beats a Bunn for taste. I do not know how you would ever rate a French Press water temp vs a Bunn that actually has a heater in it.Ok, so French press is basically a container with a wire mesh plunger that you push down and separate the coffee from the grounds. Water temp would be strictly up to you.As far as cleaning, the French Press is just a container and a wire mesh plunger. Simple rinse out could suffice if you don’t care about spots. There again, the Bunn is a rinse out (pot) and a dump (filter and grinds) although every 6 months (or less with hard water) you would have to flush and decalcify the machine where the french press you would not.Now on to the other part of your question Strength of brew. With the Bunn (excellent machine I may add) the tem p is controlled nicely BUT the water flows through the grinds and each portion of water only touches the grinds for a small period of time. With the French Press the grinds are floating in the water for the whole period of time allowing each portion of water to absorb the flavor from each and every ground. While the Bunn makes one of the best tasting DRIP coffees, by simple design of a drip machine it cannot hope to extract as much flavor as a French Press. My suggestion is to actually BUY a French Press ($15 at Target) and then do a taste test comparison side by side with a Bunn. Same beans, grind, etc and see what YOU think, because that is ultimately the person you have to please.Don’t forget to keep the receipt in case you don’t like French Press,
